As soon as I saw this one, I HAD to have it - love this idea for a puzzle image because of the creativity. Cobble Hill created this image 'in house' and it's perfect fun to assemble in one sitting on Halloween night. Just follow the patterns on the bags and the different candy colors and it will assemble in a timely manner.Â
I love the non-glare matte linen finish, random cuts and their new reduced size boxes. Special thanks to Cobble Hill Puzzle Company for allowing me to review their puzzles.Â
Brand: Dowdle jigsaw puzzles, Title: House of 7 Gables, Artist: Eric Dowdle, Size: 20" x 27" or 48.89 x 67.63cm, Pieces: 1000.Â
I started with the Halloween Trick or Treaters along the bottom, along with the sidewalk area. Slowly I built up the building walls and the main tree in front of the house.Â
Since the house the windows were tricky, I moved up to the dark sky around the tree, moon and rooftop. Then I built each window so the building itself finally came together. AND it looks fantastic....loads of dark though but well worth putting it together. Â Â Â
This was a $2 find at the Thrift store and took 15 hours to assemble due to the dark colors. Well worth seeing assembled on the wall as a Halloween decor.
Brand: Unknown, Title: Halloween House jigsaw puzzle, Artist: Steve Crisp, Pieces: 1000, Size: 20" x 30"
I do love this Halloween House jigsaw puzzle image and I was duped into purchasing this low level brand. Buyer beware of internet purchases that appear to be sold locally when in fact are shipped internationally to local destination sales.
I did not do my usual sorting routine with this one. In fact, I was so disappointed about the condition of this puzzle that I contemplated on not even assembling it. I could see from the cut of the pieces that it would be VERY challenging to put together as one piece would likely fit into 100 different places.Â
Then I seen the poster and pieces had the letters on the back and decided that this puzzle would best be assembled using the 'letter' pattern and be completed by the 6 sections of A, B, C, D, E, and F.Â
That made me decide I would just get it done and it actually added a bit of fun to the 'dire' situation.
The flat thin pieces easily stacked upon one another and the laid out pieces that are basically glossy card-stock thickness. I had to
handle them very carefully.
I have to admit the only fun part of this puzzle was assembling it by using the letter codes on the back of this jigsaw puzzle no-name brand
and I did it in speedy time too!
Brand: Cobble Hill Puzzle Company, Title: Sugar Skull Cookies, By: Jody Bacon Coastal Cookie Shoppe, Pieces: 1000, Size: 26.625" x 19.25".Â
The border was not to be completed at the beginning this time due to the puzzle shapes - it would get worked in during progress however it turned out to be one of the very last pieces to be assembled.
I just did not really know where to start with this one and eventually chose red and then the yellow striped reds. I also found myself building 'cookie-eyes' on the puzzle piece layout boards.
It was very tricky to match up the teeth and mouths. There were so many lines and squiggles, curls and flowers. The decor was so various. Often I would look for a colored flower and could not locate it. Many of the cookies had various color combinations.
I set aside little work-in-progress clusters to see the fragments of the individual Sugar Skull Cookies puzzle forming then inserted them into the jigsaw puzzle image.
Brand: Standout Puzzles, Title: Country Pumpkins Jigsaw Puzzle, Artist: Anita Skinner, Pieces: 750, Size: 18" x 24"
The border was not to be completed at the beginning this time due to the puzzle shapes - it will get worked in during progress.
In actuality the border was not complete until very close to the end.
The Standout Falling Stars jigsaw puzzle has VERY random cut pieces and some are quite small. It was tricky to determine the entire border but that is typical for this die-cut pattern. The sky seemed to be the best place for 'take off' so I started there. Then I determined the most
outstanding colors to be blue, red and yellow. That way the buildings could be built upon. Being that the artwork is brush-strokes most of the assembly is done by colors and shapes. Most of the shrubbery, pumpkins and extra landscape was second last and the big main tree
was the last area assembled.
The cut and quality of Standout jigsaw puzzles was good. Since the puzzle is sold in a tube-like container, an insert image/poster is included inside the container which is most helpful.Â
As part of their marketing feature, Standout includes (in a separate little bag) 5 extra pieces to mix within the pieces. I transferred the pieces from the container into an empty puzzle box for sorting. Once I got into the groove of the image the rest of the experience was terrific!
Brand: Eurographic, Title: Halloween Pets Jigsaw Puzzle [Amazon Link], Size: 19.25" x 27", Pieces: 1000. The Eurographics Halloween Pets Jigsaw Puzzle is a perfect puzzle experience....it's super fun to see these delightful little pets created into a seasonal image. The cut, colours, quality and super cuteness make this jigsaw puzzle a pure delight! Highly recommended!!! I have wanted this puzzle for more than a few years....now it is a keeper on my wall!Â
Cobble Hill Halloween Cookies Puzzle
Brand: Cobble Hill Puzzle Company, Title: Halloween Cookies (Amazon Link), By: Cobble Hill Creations, Pieces: 350, Size: 26.625" x 19.25.Â
These are perfect Halloween Cookies in a jigsaw puzzle image by Cobble Hill Puzzle Company. At 350 pieces, they are cut in Family size which means the pieces are small, medium and large. The pieces do fit perfectly smooth together which compliment the extremely patient production of these Halloween Cookies to form a terrific jigsaw puzzle for Halloween. Â

NOTE: Images are shown below the comments;
YAY! It's complete, no missing pieces and assembled from beginning to end without any trouble. Build the House on a puzzle board or something similar.
All sections fit into place easily but the windows were the trickiest. Working them a bit more that the other sections, no biggy though. The two roof sections are set on top to easily lift on and off. I'm not sure if the section that attaches on where the green monster is jailed behind bars inside behind the fours windows actually hide him inside but still cool. I love how the overhang on the roof covers enough to the outside fence to block in the yard.Â
To move the Haunted House be sure to keep it on the puzzle board. Do not try to pick it up.
I think they did a terrific job with it and the Halloween children would be very happy to see it. Highly recommend it for a Halloween treat. Well done Eurographics!

BAG Six - Glue Sheets on Back
Haunted House 3D Jigsaw Puzzle (Amazon Link) by Eurographics
Puzzle Build has 1100 pieces.Â
Instruction booklet Link
NOTE: Images are shown below the comments;
This section Bag 6 is numerous pieces and parts. There's a wall section of 32 pieces, 4 small windows and 4 large windows. A chimney and a 26 piece border/fence at almost 23". It took more time to put the correct glue sheets on the backs than to assemble the puzzle pieces. Be mindful of the glue sheets being put on the correct window sizes. It's a nice change from doing the walls but still enough puzzling fun to keep it interesting. Â

This section Bag 5 is 111 pieces, 10.4x9.8". It's another wall so it looks like the base and 4 walls. I have not bent it at the fold lines yet. I will wait for the instructions. I suspect the walls and fold lines are not how i'm expecting them to work out but the process is going great.
Next up, bag #6, I looked and saw windows and doors but I don't have a clue how it's going to go together. I'm really liking the Halloween images.Â

The board quality is good and firm. The Glue sheets are easy to manage if handled with care. The bags of pieces are fully sealed in a soft plastic. The Supports are easy to handle and the instructions are very clear. The image details are really fun and the assembly process goes quickly. I'm looking forward to the next step.

BAG ONE - Glue Sheet on Back
Haunted House 3D Jigsaw Puzzle (Amazon Link) by Eurographics
Puzzle Build has 1100 pieces.Â
Instruction booklet Link
NOTE: Images are shown below the comments;
Bag 1 comes with 285 pieces (13.66"x10.55") and shows the base of the inside bottom floor. I laid out all the pieces on a foam board and tried to determine what were edge pieces as there are several that have edge pieces which actually are not. They are there to accommodate building the structure. There were patterns of colours I grouped as well. The image has all the elements of Halloween.Â
There are three rooms on the bottom floor plus stairs leading somewhere. One is a kitchen with skeletons at a dining table, another room has skeletons lounging around a coffee table and fireplace and the third room has a skeleton in a casket and a witch brewing potions. It's an excellent Halloween image with a hue of darkness (naturally) so some details are not so easily defined.Â
After assembling the pieces, I followed the 4 black glue sheets patterns as shown in the Instruction booklet onto the back of the assembled base. The size of the base is not too big therefore, if being careful, it can be flipped over easily enough.Â
Be mindful to select the correct glue sheets and be sure they are lined up correctly. I managed easily enough but I paid close attention because it would be difficult to have to change out the glue sheets.
Overall, I am impressed with Bag 1 and the process. This is very much like assembling the Lego Grand Piano the difference of course is quality board to hard plastic pieces. Both so fun!

 "Puzzle Your Way Through Halloween:Â
A Hauntingly Fun History"
Introduction:
As the leaves turn crimson and the air takes on a chill, Halloween aficionados eagerly prepare for a day of spook-tacular revelry. But do you ever wonder how this hauntingly fun holiday came to be? In this blog post, we'll take you on a journey through the history of Halloween, from its ancient Celtic roots to its modern-day extravagance. Along the way, we'll also explore how Halloween images have contributed to the popularity of jigsaw puzzles during this spine-tingling season.
The Celtic Origins of Halloween:
Halloween has a rich and diverse history that dates back over 2,000 years. Its origins can be traced to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced "sow-in"), which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam freely among the living. To ward off these wandering souls, the Celts would light bonfires, wear costumes, and carve lanterns from turnips to keep the malevolent spirits at bay.
Roman Influence and All Saints' Day:
With the Roman conquest of Celtic lands, Samhain merged with two Roman holidays: Feralia, a day of remembrance for the dead, and Pomona, a celebration of the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. These influences contributed to the evolution of Halloween, incorporating elements of both harvest and honoring the deceased.
The Christianization of Halloween saw All Saints' Day, or All Hallows' Day, move from May to November 1st, with All Hallows' Eve, or Halloween, occurring on the night before. This allowed the holiday to coexist with traditional Celtic and Roman customs.
Jack-O'-Lanterns and Jigsaw Puzzles:
One of the most iconic symbols of Halloween is the Jack-O'-Lantern, which has its roots in the Celtic tradition of carving turnips and later evolved into the pumpkin-carving practice we know today. The glowing visage of a Jack-O'-Lantern has a mesmerizing effect, casting eerie shadows and igniting the imagination. This captivating image has made its way onto jigsaw puzzles, turning them into popular Halloween pastimes for puzzle enthusiasts.
Jigsaw puzzles featuring Jack-O'-Lanterns often come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and difficulty levels. Whether it's a whimsical puzzle with a grinning pumpkin or a more challenging one with an intricately carved design, these puzzles capture the essence of Halloween. They allow both young and old to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit, piece by piece, creating a fun and festive atmosphere in the comfort of their homes.
Halloween-Themed Jigsaw Puzzles:
In addition to Jack-O'-Lanterns, jigsaw puzzles featuring other Halloween images have gained popularity over the years. Ghosts, witches, black cats, haunted houses, and skeletons are common motifs that grace puzzle pieces during this spooky season. These puzzles offer a unique way to engage with the holiday's aesthetics and provide a perfect bonding activity for family and friends.
Conclusion:
Halloween, with its intricate history and captivating imagery, has long been a source of inspiration for both the young and the young at heart. As the holiday has evolved over the centuries, its customs and symbols have been embraced by many, finding their way onto various forms of entertainment, including jigsaw puzzles.
So, whether you're a puzzle aficionado looking for a new challenge or someone seeking a creative way to celebrate Halloween, consider diving into the world of Halloween-themed jigsaw puzzles. They provide a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the enchanting spirit of this holiday, one piece at a time. With each puzzle you complete, you'll not only have a fantastic time but also create lasting memories of Halloween's history and charm.
